(Mumbai Bohri Mohalla) Naan Sandwich – Ghotala Sandwich


(ITS KNOWN AS GHOTALA)

Ingredients

8 Naan (Baked Flat Bread)
2 Cups Mashed Potatoes
1 Cup Cooked Kheema
1 Cup Egg Bhurji
1 Cup Chopped Onions
1 Cup Chopped Tomotoes
2 to 3 Chopped Green Chillies (Optional)
1 Cup Chopped Kothmir Pudina
1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
1 tsp Roasted Jeera Powder
1/2 tsp Haldi Powder
1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
Salt to Taste
Lemons
Butter for frying

Method

Cut naans into 2 halves like a sandwich bread and keep aside.
Take a no stick frying paan and put it on medium heat and add butter. Add garam masala, jeera powder and roast for 10 to 20 sec. Add onions, tomatoes, green chillies and saute for 2 minutes. Add mashed potatoes, bhurji, kheema, haldi powder, and red chilly powder and mix mash it thoroughly. Add more butter if you like. Season with salt and remove from heat.

Add chopped kothmir pudina, a lemon juice and mix it nicely and keep aside.
Take the naan and on the bottom half spread the mixture like a thick layer. Place the Top of the other half and keep the sandwich aside. Make all the other sandwiches similarly.

Take the same frying paan or a tava and heat it on medium heat. Put some butter and roast the sandwich from the bottom part first. Once it's crispy, turn it on other side and roast it again till its crispy.
Once done, cut it as you like and enjoy with sliced onions and a dash of lime.

Tip:

If naans are not available you can use Pav Bhaji Breads, Slice bread, French Breads, Pita Bread or simply make the Ghotala and enjoy with Slice Bread.
If you do not have kheema, you can use any left over chicken or mutton gravy.

NOTE:

But the gravy has to be absolutely dry and boneless.
