Krispy Konkani Machchi Fry

Ingredients

750 gms Cleaned Scaled Fish cut into Pieces (If using small variety of fish you can use whole fish)

Masala for Marination

½ cup Tomato Paste
½ cup Dry Coconut Powder
½ cup Roasted Split Chana (Daaliya)
2 tsp Red Chilli Powder (Mild Hot)
8 to 10 Dry Kashmiri Chillis (De-Seeded and soaked)
1 tsp Haldi Powder
2 tsp Jeera Powder
2 tsp Garlic Paste
½ tsp Yellow Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Chaat Masala Powder
2 Large Lemon Juice
5 tblsp Oil
Salt as per Taste

For Frying

Rava for coating
Oil for Frying

Method

Once the fish is cleaned and washed, sprinkle some salt. Transfer the fish in a strainer so that the remaining water is strained completely.
In a large grinder add the entire marination ingredient and grind it into thick smooth paste. Place this masala in a large mixing bowl. Once the fish is completely strain and dried add it in the marination masala and mix well. You can adjust the spiciness, salt and tanginess of the masala according to your taste. Cover this fish and marinated for about 4 hours.
Heat oil in medium shallow pan. In a flat plate spread rava. Take a marinated fish coating the masala evenly and dust it in rava evenly. Fry this fish on a medium heat evenly until crispy. Enjoy!!

The measures of ingredients can vary from taste and quantity.
You can use the same ingredients to make Prawns and other seafood delicacies.
