Masoor Tameta (Lentils)
Ingredients
2 cups Masoor Dal (Lentils)4 cups Tomatoes Diced
2 cups Onions Chopped
2 tblsp Garlic Grated
1 Green Chilli Chopped
2 Fresh Tej Patta
½ tsp Haldi Powder
½ tsp Jeera Powder
2 tblsp Oil
Salt & Black pepper powder to taste
Fresh Hara Dhania
Chicken or Veg Stock as per need
Method
Wash
and rinse the dal, keep it aside. Take a large pot and heat oil in it.
Add grated garlic saute for a minute, add onions, green chillies, tej
pattas, and saute until soft and translucent (shiny).
Add
tomatoes and stir for a minute. Add dal, haldi, seasoning to taste and
mix it well. Add 1 cup of chicken stock, cover the pot and let it cook
for 5 to 7 minutes.
Uncover
the pot and stir to check if lentils are done. If not yet, add ½ cup
more stock and cook for 2 minutes more. Add jeera powder, and...
GarNICHE with fresh Hara Dhania, and Serve with phulka, or steam rice.
