Chef Juzer: I was born in Devlali, Nashik, and raised in the vibrant lanes of Mumbai. My love for cooking began at age 7, helping my mother in a kitchen where aromas and memories came alive. I was inspired by the Bhatyaras and Khansamas of the 1970s—culinary masters who cooked over charcoal for grand gatherings. Their slow cooking methods became the foundation of my own style. In my 30s, I opened a restaurant in Devlali, blending tradition with modern flair. Though I explored global cuisines, my heart always returned to the flavors of home. I realized our Bohra culinary heritage—the thaal, the sweet-savory harmony, the phrase “Jamjo ane Jamarjo”—was fading. I began sharing recipes online, and the warm response reaffirmed our food’s deep meaning. One day, my son, a chef himself, asked, “Can you give me your legacy?” That moment sparked this blog. Jamjo ane Jamarjo is more than recipes—it’s a gift to my sons, a tribute to my mother and grandmothers, and a celebration of our culture.
